Accident

Sunday night Jim and Ammon went home teaching. When they came back home, Ammon was coming down the driveway in his manual wheelchair.  There are some cracks in the cement and one of his wheels hit a crack just the wrong way and it flipped the wheelchair forward. Ammon hit his forehead, scraped his left elbow pretty badly and broke the humorous bone at the top of his right arm.  We gave him some Tylenol and Jim gave him a blessing. He slept through the night but this morning he couldn't use his arm very well.  Jim took him to the pediatrician, Dr. Knochel. He had Jim take Ammon over to the radiation department at the hospital. Dr. Egbert read the x-ray and called Dr. Wallentine (doctor that did my knee surgery) to consult with him. The bone is broken but they cannot cast this particular site. So Ammon has his arm in a pretty big sling and it will stay there for three weeks.  No surgery will be required for which we are most grateful.  Ammon is pretty bummed out about this because he can't use the computer, can't type and can't hold a book with two hands - nor has he figured out a way yet that he can use his Kindle.

It's a good thing that his hospital bed can rise and we can move the bed around the room. At least he can watch TV!  I think it's going to be a very long three weeks for this kiddo.

Indexing

Ammon was given this little award along with the biggest Hershey candy bar I've ever seen. He received it during Priesthood last Sunday. I am very impressed with his abilities. I don't know how to index. Jim does some but Ammon has learned to do this on his own with no help from anyone. Yesterday he did 40 names. Since the award he has done about 120 additional names.  Very impressive, indeed!

On Monday night during FHE we talked about indexing and the temple and what they do with the names that are indexed.  We are very excited about the work that Ammon does and that he is blessed with the ability to read the names and the writing.  Way to go, Ammon!  You continue to set a great example for all of us.

Moms New Fashionable, Styling Hair

Since I did not have anything to post today, I decided to post on Mom's hair. Yesterday when Jason and I were about to type a lesson Mom came in and I said Wow! I was amazed her new haircut  was the most beautiful haircut ever. My mom and I made a bet to see whether my dad would notice it or not and we won the bet since my dad didn't notice it.

Youth Conference

Youth Conference, June 2012

Here are some photos taken of Ammon at youth conference. We sure appreciate Kaitlin going down with Ammon to Snow College to spend 2 1/2 days there. They slept over and Ammon participated as much as possible.  They had water activities the first day and a dance that night. (Ammon LOVES dances.) The second day they had a ropes course event and listened to a speaker. That evening they watched the movie, "War Horse." On the last morning, they had a testimony meeting. Ammon bore his and said, "I gave a shout out to you, Mom and said it's because you are always there for me and I'll always be there for you even when you die." Hmm -- Sweet kid.

HEre

Cool

This one is for you Dad.  today I watched West Side Story with Jason. there is a song in that movie titled Play It Cool Boy and also Officer Crumpkie I liked those two songs cause of the beat of it and because it is so dancy. I thought the choreography was outstanding.  I loved the movie, and  I loved the director Robert Wise. He has done the Sound of Music  just for that he is phenomenal. I recommend it also, go watch it. We started reading Thunder Dog, it is moving and so powerful. I first got interested  after Mom's knee replacement surgery and Mom came home from the hospital and  Sister Turner brought the book over for us to read while Mom was recovering. It's the story of Michael Hingson blind from birth as his dog Roselle helps him escape the 9/11 twin tower attack through faith I highly recommend it. It  lifts me up.

Ball Of Fun

So yesterday we packed up my stuff at home, for Youth Conference, and then we left about 8:30am. We arrived at Snow College where we mingled for about an hour or two. Then we checked in at Snow Gardens, where we would be sleeping. I think then we started the water course. I did not like that. But I got to go down the slip n' slide, thanks to Gavin and Jason. And then we had a dance. I got to dance with college girls (I promise mom I am not trying to ask them out). It was exciting. I went to bed afterwards.
I woke up the next morning, got dressed, and then we went outside again. This time we had a rope course. That was fun. Now we're just waiting here till the rest of the priests get done with the bikes, then we are watching a movie called War Horse. I think it will be time for bed for me after that. Tomorrow, we are having a Testimony meeting, then go home. This is going to be fun. See you at home tomorrow. I love you!
Bye.

I will be staying overnight at the dorms, and play some games, having lunch, hearing guest speakers, and probably doing some skits.

My New Hobby

Today I learned how to index. I indexed for 40 people in the 1940 Arkansas census. I got really bothered by the people from Arkansas since every single one was from there(no offense tana) so I was like "why?!" but overall I loved helping these people.

childhood memories/concert night

One of the memories I have is at church in primary when we had the nativity scene reenactment (I am sure Jason remembers it) That was the first time I met Jason Colver. I wore a shepherd's turban and I had a robe. Before I go into the big concert I would just like to conclude the Childhood memories part  by saying it will be sad to leave high school. Now I will go on to my last concert, it is tonight it will be so much fun. I am thrilled I will boogy till I just can't boogy any more and I will sing my heart out for Jason and Mom and Dad.
